Viscom Gestalt Process

These are my physical and photo sketchs of the beginnings to my understanding of the gestalt design principles.

Exploring Type: Process and Finals

These are for my first type assignment, a created a series of altered letter forms and created them into large scale pop ups to see the dimensions of the letters, usually seen in their 2D

This is the process of creating the pop up, it takes a good amount of planning and measurement to get it right. I then used tape to attach it to the wall, while it did work, I wish I had found a better way to do this.

These are the final results of the project, and I am pretty satisfied with the project. I wish my craft could have been better, but there was an improvement as I progressed with each letter form. I was focusing on a consistant look with the pop ups, especially with different letters forms. I then decided to continue the theme with the anatomy labeling for the last part of project.

Part 4, the perfect replication of letter. Mine was a lower case Futura o.

My exploration for this photo sketching process was based on objects in close vicinity: including my roommates, possessions, and near by resources such as a garden, library, store, and various buildings. After this exploration I realized that people were my favorite subject matter, but more difficult to fit into the color categories. The motion blur idea did trigger an idea for my final photos, but it would require me to re-shoot every color category for the final presentation. The idea is to have 4-5 people and to coordinate their color shirts, then have a slow exposure where they slowly mill about each other.

Si Scott Studio

I find his work quite alluring and exciting. The presentation and documentation are also visual pleasing. http://siscottstudio.com

A bit about me

I am currently a student at the Kansas City Art Institute majoring in graphic design. Art has been my passion for as long as I can remember.

I aspire to perhaps be internet famous like any artist these days, but who knows what will happen. There is so much beautiful amazing art out there and I am just happy and content having some of mine out there too, and make a living off of what I love later on in life.

Besides art, the things most dear to me are: my friends, family, God, knowledge, world awareness, reading and writing, movies (I watch at least 4 a week here in college, mostly with my friend Jenna), some music, and sleeping.

First Day of Class

Welp, this would be what I created for my blog. More to come soon.
